You are family. It's true.
You are our family, and we invite you to find your home at Grace! We invite you to experience the warmth and openness of Grace United Church, where we offer you the same invitation Christ extends to each one of us, no matter who you are, or where your journey has taken you in the past. At Grace United Church you are loved, just for who you are. Even if you haven’t been to church in a long time, you can find a home at Grace Church. Even if you’ve never been to church, and have lots of questions, you can find a home at Grace Church. We want to be your family.
We are a new church, founded in 2010, but we have deep roots in our community and in the Christian faith. Our church is a congregation of both the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church USA, but we have members who come from a variety of backgrounds and traditions. We celebrate the unity of love and spirit we have because of God’s abiding presence in our congregation.
Please come and experience the life and love of Christ that we want to share with you.
Our life together includes:
We believe that each person is unique and valuable. Our church is a family of faith centered in the love of God as lived through Jesus Christ, where every person can have a strong sense of being loved and belonging, just as they have been created by God. God's love for us is unconditional and eternal. Nothing can keep God from loving us! And we believe that God's love can heal us and transform us.
We believe that each person is on a spiritual journey and that we can come together to support and encourage one another in those journeys. We believe that Christ travels with us throughout our lives, and leads us toward the hope and fulfillment of the reign of his unselfish love in the world.
We believe that everyone has a home in Christ's family. No matter who – no matter what – no matter where we are on life's journey – we all belong to God and to one family with God as our Creator. We are diverse in our backgrounds, family make-up, and faith experiences, but we are united by the living presence of Christ in our lives and the world. We are made one through his ongoing and unselfish love for the world.
As Christ's family, we want to learn from each other and celebrate Christ's presence among us, as we unite in worship, learning, prayer, service and sharing. When we join together in hope and faith, Christ transforms us in love, to be his love in the world.
We are a people of possibility. Our faith finds its hope in the Easter event, when Christ was raised from death to new life. God is always creating new possibilities for love, justice, peace and wholeness in our lives and in the world. In our church, and in our parent denominations of the United Church of Christ (UCC) and Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA), congregations and structures have the breathing room to explore and to hear, for after all.....
God is still speaking.
